The Team

The team has been grown over a numbers of years to include many specialists with unique experience in their sectors. The company always strives to improve staff, allowing them to move up the career ladder through experience and education. The company continues to invest in its staff through day release training courses to HNC and Degree level. 

In order to assist in their continued development and understanding of wider issues within the industry staff are encouraged to join suitable engineering institutes such as the Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Chris Cowle | Design Director

Chris has over 30 years of experience in the transport industry. He has worked in both the public and private sector. During his time in the industry he has been responsible for the delivery of a wide range of projects, including transport assessments, junction design, traffic signing schemes and ferry port design. However, over the last 20 years he has gained an unrivalled knowledge within aviation, providing advice in relation to airport traffic management and parking schemes, baggage facility design, and aircraft stand layout design. He adopts an iterative approach to ensure the most efficient solution is taken forward.

Dominic Rixon | Senior Associate 

Having started his career in the transport industry within general transport planning, Dominic has over 21 years of experience in the aviation infrastructure industry and joined C-TAS from its inception. During his time in the aviation sector, he has managed a wide range of projects including, airport traffic management schemes, baggage facility design, aircraft stand layout design, and airport access security.

Kevin Spice | Senior Engineer

Having worked in the transport infrastructure design industry for over 18 years, Kevin has gained experience in a broad range of projects including junction design, airport traffic and baggage management, traffic sign design and producing design drawings in both 2 and 3 dimensions.

Carlos Alcantara | Senior Engineer

Carlos has over twelve years of experience in civil infrastructure projects and specialises in Highways and Transport Infrastructure design, from planning to detail design for public and private projects. Other areas of experience include drainage design, SuDS, commercial development and housing.

Connor Rance | Engineer

Connor joined the team in 2014. C-TAS have supported Connor in gaining a BEng Civil Engineering. In addition to AutoCAD, Connor specialises in designing using CIVILS 3D.

Sam Cowle | Graduate Engineer

Sam worked part-time with C-TAS during the summer breaks of his university studies. Following the completion of his MEng Structural Engineering with Architecture (Hons), Sam has joined us full time and will enhance the teams design capabilities.

CAD Team

Joe and Dan make up the C-TAS CAD team.

Joe joined the team in 2018. After completing various training courses, Joe now specialises in AutoCAD and REVIT.

Dan joined the team in 2022 new to the industry. He is gaining experience on a wide range of projects and, after completing various training courses, Dan now specialises in KeySIGN and KeyPOST.

Claire Smith | Practice Manager

Claire joined us in 2014 and manages the day to day running of the office and the financial aspects of our projects. Before joining C-TAS Claire worked in customer service and administration roles and brings over 20 years of experience to the team.
