The project comprises a review of the existing apron which consists of 30 No. aircraft stands for a mixture of Code C, E and F aircraft for compliance against current industry standards. The operations bases are used for the parking and maintenance of the British Airways fleet.
The core of the project was to assess the bases for compliance, develop a new apron / hangar markings and signage standard which would be used across all British Airways Operations Bases, undertake aircraft track analysis for all aircraft along the new taxiways, on and off stands, into and out of the hangars and engine run up pens, development of new road and aircraft stand arrangements. The project also safeguarded for the future aircraft fleet and removed any old aircraft. In addition to the external apron the internal hangar markings for TBA south pen and TBN taking account the new standard as well as the current and future aircraft fleets including the Airbus Code C NEO aircraft.
