Terminal 3 had a split departures and arrivals baggage system. C-TAS were appointed to develop layouts for an integrated baggage facility. The appointment ran from concept right through to construction. The new facility was developed to handle 40% additional bags but also included innovative features including robot build stations and batch delivery. C-TAS were also tasked with developing the traffic element of the design, including the internal layout and the evolution of external works from temporary to permanent arrangement. This required a high level of coordination with the architectural and baggage designers to achieve the optimum layout.
